If You Think Your Identity Has Been Stolen
Here's what to do if you find potentially fraudulent activity on any account, paid someone you think is a scammer, gave them your personal information or access to your computer or phone.
Immediately:
- Contact us so we can freeze your accounts
- Close the accounts that you know, or believe, have been tampered with or opened fraudulently
- For fraudulent debit card transactions: immediately open your FNB mobile app and set the lost card to the OFF setting
- Check your credit report at AnnualCreditReport.com
- Freeze your credit or place a fraud alert to make it harder for someone to use your information. A credit freeze keeps people from getting into your report. While a freeze is in place, nobody can open a new credit account
- Go to IdentityTheft.gov for a step by step guide to recovering your identity
- File a report with your local police department where the identity theft took place
- File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission
